Description:

Electronic Arts is hiring a Software Engineer III for its Central Technology Data & Insights (D&I) team in Hyderabad. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Engineering and design large-scale, distributed systems, services, and AI-driven data tools with high availability, scalability, and performance requirements. You will take ownership of the end-to-end development of complex features from architecture through operation, translate ambiguous product needs into technical execution plans, evaluate system cost trade-offs, implement observability setups, and resolve complex production infrastructure issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating live production systems.
  • Expertise in software design, distributed systems architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or C++ with the ability to write production-grade, maintainable code.
  • Experience designing and building scalable backend systems, APIs, and data modeling patterns across relational, NoSQL, or columnar databases.
  • Hands-on experience constructing data pipelines and utilizing streaming frameworks like Kafka, Flink, or Storm.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and microservices.
  • Experience implementing system reliability, performance optimization, monitoring, alerting, and observability best practices.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into technical designs, enforce coding standards, run testing strategies, and participate in on-call rotations.
